Level-5 Games are quickly becoming one of my favourite videogame companies ever, by their style and ideas with Dark Cloud and Professor Layton. But even with all their wonderful art style and grand intriguing worlds that can compare to that of Studio Ghibli in terms of blending, their resident composer Tomohito Nishiura completes the entire thing like cherries on a cake.
This may just be the basic battle theme for their sci-fi RPG Rogue Galaxy, but it brings with it as much grandeur and vigour as Mass Effect can give in its lower parts. A dramatic pounding theme of determined glory accompanied with hopeful strings and brass to surge your heart onwards into the strangest and darkest depths of the galaxy, vigorous but cautious, determined but careful, a warning accompanied with encouragement of the dangers that lie ahead.
I was thinking the same thing about Level-5 right before I read your comments on it. They do have some really well-integrated musical scores.
