my grandfather shoot Stig Pettersson by 8mm film at Tokyo on 18th March 1962. Stig Pettersson won and jumped 2m10(indoors).
Stig "Stickan" Pettersson is a Swedish high jump athlete. He took part to [2m06,4th] at Melbourne(1956),[2m09,5th] at Rome(1960) [2m06,4th] at Tokyo(1964) Olympic.

私見ですがこの飛び方のほうが好きです。ブルメルの名が未だに忘れられません。
背面跳び出た時おかしな技法だなあと当時皆が馬鹿にしたみたい。
+10cm以上の効果ある背面が主流な今...ブルメルが背面したら楽に2m40以上は
飛べたと想います。
スエ-デンはホルム選手もその後出て凄い記録だしたりこの国も強いですね。

@Peyresourde : that would be because there are many tall people in Sweden who are good athletes...although I've not seen a Frieselander (from the Netherlands) who is a gr8 high jumper, given that they're tallest ethnic group in the world.
Also, have you noticed how many tall gr8 Nordic athletes are goal keepers in the English Premier league at any one time?

Very impressive. It is something special - many great high jumpers were from Sweden: Stig Pettersson, Kurt Lundqvist, Richard Dahl, Patrik Sjöberg, Kajsa Bergqvist, Stefan Holm.
