Thrace (Θράκη) is an ancient region inhabited by the Ancient people called Thracians. According to Herodotus, Thracians were the second largest population in the known world after India. Homer describes a great deal of their sophistication as he narrates how the Thracians fought on the Trojan side.

Thrace is now divided into three, shared between Greece, Bulgaria and Turkey.

What is the purpose of love? The story of Orpheus (Ὀρφεύς) and Eurydike (Εὐρυδίκη) is about lost love. Though Orpheus was Thracian, the interaction between the Thracians and the Ancient Greeks lead to some of the most creative myths. Thracians eventually were assimilated into Hellenic and Slavic culture. Their dances and their music are filled with joy and happiness.
