The main Sunday night news bulliten from QTQ 9 Brisbane that aired in May 2003.

Features the then weekend Presenters; News with Mike London (who left that same year after comments he made about main weekday reader Bruce Paige) AND Heather Foord (Now Weekday reader), Sport with Chris 'bomber' Bombolas (Now A politician). Also featured in a Cross - long time poltical reporter Laurie Oakes.

Dominating the news was Governor General Peter Hollingsworth's Resignation.

The Video also features a promo for A Current Affair(with then presenter Ray Martin) AND the Nine Network's Sunday line up and Ident from 2003.

He wasn't 'sacked' - story is that he left of his own accord. The story goes that London organised for a friend to call up the station and complain about how bland Bruce Paige was - and that he (Mike) should be on instead.

soz to disagree but if you take a look at the set now, you'd realise that if that set was brought back, nine's ratings would drop and it would look to outa date but the set for that time was really good

i can definately tell that there was a tension between those two at one time... what i mean is that when bruce and heather do it they have a bit more of a smile at the beginning even if the story their about to read is really serious

omg! i love that set. it is so awesome! they should bring it back. the live shot they use now is terrible.they should also bring back the globe-based opening.

With all of the talk of "digital newsrooms" lately at Nine, I would like to see a "retro" set designed for QTQ's fiftieth in 2009(i.e late 80's/mid 90's combined newsroom/studio which still exists, but is currently just the QTQ newsroom.)

that set is the best ever National Nine News set if you ask me. What ever happened to this great set. QTQ 9 needs a new set badly.

does anyone have an idea where mike may have gone? i read a media watch transcript from the same year and it was reported he was bound for channel ten, however I think it didn't eventuate.
