The herds were 30-50 in number

  • Each year, 40's-50's, we drove to my grandmother's house in Montana. The range was open in those days. Dad made a point of pacing the pronghorns who ran between 45 and 55 mph. They loved running because they came over to run right alongside the car and did not swerve away. I kept my head outside the window, to feel the same rush of air as they did, and to study their gait. They carry their heads much higher than a horse does when running. It seems odd to think of them being in a zoo.

  • So beautiful and elegant! They're adorable too. =)

  • Really Cute!
