Dobson's camp has publicized a small portion of the story on gay "rehabilitation." Dr. Robert Spitzer, author of often quoted research, tells us the rest of the story, including how hard it was to gather a sample group for the study.

Dobson recently took money out of his ministry to the poor in order to finance an anti-gay marriage campaign. I can think of at least one person in particular who might have a problem with that.

What in the hell is wrong with these people?

I'll be testifying next Tuesday with a State Assembly Committee supporting SB1172 banning conversion therapy with minors. Please watch a video I created and learn how you can support protecting our LGBTQ youth from this harmful practice.

Being at deaths door is the ONLY reason he came clean. In the 4/11/2012 interview he did w/ Gabriel Arana "My So Called Ex-Gay Life" Spitzer says he was 'afraid his 2001 study would TARNISH HIS LEGACY'. He knew for over 10 yrs his study was bogus & it's claims FALSE yet he did nothing until he finds himself dying. Apparently the rash of gay teen suicides, broken families & antigay discrimination weren't enough for Spitzer to come clean...nope...all he's concerned w/ is protecting his LEGACY.

Spitzer is a joke. His 2001 study created a shitstorm of problems for homosexuals. For over 10 years this idiot allowed the ex-gay industry to tout his work as scientific poof that "change is possible". His flawed study bolstered that quack industry & played a very big part in many gay teen suicides & broken families over the past decade. Only NOW, because he's in poor health & afraid that the 2001 study would TARNISH HIS LEGACY,--does he man up & admit what a joke that study was. FU Spitzer

This won't change the anti-gay "ex-gay" types. Even though Spitzer has now stated that the 2001 study was wrong and that change is not possible the homophobes will never give up.

FOTF - Ruthless in their pursuit of hatred. Truth, a word, a concept, they refuse to include in their 'mission' .... the inferior element of human behavior, is alive and well within the religious right wing of the world.

In the interview, I didn't hear any mention of bisexuality. Seems rather important in a study like this.

In a move that serves as a significant blow to “ex-gay” programs and anti-gay organizations, Dr. Robert Spitzer repudiated his much-criticized 2001 study that claimed some “highly motivated” homosexuals could go from gay to straight. His retraction occurred in an American Prospect magazine article that hit newsstands today. (April 11th 2012)

Hypocrite..........Death approaches, and now you know the evil influence your "study" has wrought !

Shame on you......especially for talking to that fool Dobson of Focus on the Family.

No gay who is not intimidated and bullied and ostracized wants to "change" !
