How to organize your closet - shoe, purses, and accessories edition

Here is an idea of how you can organize your accessories. Instead of buying expensive shoe racks an purse bins, create your own!


I had a difficult time trying to arrange my belongings (specifically shoes/purses) and organize them in a way where it didn't look cluttery. I hated the idea of having my shoes in a box or scattered all over the place. I also didn't have the money to buy all these fancy storage units for them; so, I got creative and made my own.

I bought ALL my shelving units, bins, and racks from Lowes Home Improvement. But I'm pretty sure they're at Home Depot, too. And some select items can be found at Target and Walmart or any store where they have organizing things such as Bed bath and beyond.

The entire unit costs no more than $80. This incluses all the racks, hardware, shoe shelves, belt/tie organizer,etc...

TIP: before nailing, cutting, and doing all that handyman stuff, make sure you measure and have someone help if you're not the handy type. Also, look around different stores to get a feel of what "unit" look you'd want to create.
