Now that's what I'm talkin' 'bout! Loved that very pleasant tune. Nice easy pace, cleaner than clean, crispier than a baked potato chip. You certainly hear the Armstrong reference, very nice.
Payton has great technique, I'm just learning about him. This must be a good album, just the two players. Gotta here more. ciao.
A great version of the old classic, first recorded by King Oliver's Creole Jazz Band in 1923, followed by the better known version by Louis Armstrong and Earl Hines in 1928. Both should be in every jazz collectors library.
Nicholas is phenomenal with his interpretation of this fun tune. He sticks closely to the various themes and ending, but shows us some great artistic flair in his playing throughout. Good one, King
