Volkaert grew up in western Canada and played with Merle Haggard for several years, but now he serves up his flawless mix of blues, swing and country Telecaster three or four nights a week in his adopted home. And when I say flawless, I mean, his blues really burn, his swing cooks at a frightening tempo, and his chicken pickin' is absolutely definitive.
