(in my opinion) twisted, sick, and perverted proclivities of so-called prophets and the fact that unquestioning obediance is mandated. It is hard to define "consent" when people have been subjected to what I consider severe mind-control. It is a complex issue that demands circumspection and compassion and integrity and commitment to honesty--that so far the State of Utah has not consistently apparently supplied (sometimes persecuting, generally ignoring). May God bless and guide all involved.

I hope that we will se the ending to this soon! This is such a complex issue. I am a monogamist myself (and former LDS) who believes that the government has no business mandating or restricting the marital/familial/sexual choices of the citizenry AS LONG AS IT INVOLVES CONSENTING ADULTS. People should be free to practice their religion. I think that if polygamy were legalized the openness and transparency might heal some of the propensity towards abuse.
