  • there was a runner on third that would tye game also.

  • How can you tell? If it WASNT dropped, why did the batter take off as soon as she heard the ump call " Three"?

From a league officer stand point. Parents, dont complain about the time lenght of games when you allow your batters to step out of the box after each and EVERY pitch. This prolong the game by 20 or 30 mins ( or shortens the amount of bats). This ump should not allow this. Encourage them to stay in there and be ready for next pitch.

  • the coach has there girls take off on ever third strike regardless, and the camera was stationary and I could see from side clearly, ump was behind shortstop and made call.

  • Did the plate ump ask the field up if it was dropped. Cause I've umped behind the plate and sometimes from the angle it can be hard to see whether the ball was dropped or not.

  • only after the batter ran to first, which the coach had all his batters run on strike three call, then the home plate blue asked,it cost us the game.home plate ump clearly called strike 3,out.

  • @critter2 I'm saying it did or didn't hit the ground. I said it LOOKS like it did... There is NO POSSIBLE way ANYONE could tell for sure, from this camera angle, whether the ball did or did not hit the ground. It's just not possible. I was just clarifying the rule.

  • @noscope1 why do you people bother making this comment when this was uploaded july 2008 serioulsy just stop btiching over litte thigs

  • @rkbeals there are rules that state otherwise, cause the umpire got trick is what happen.

  • @jcarp1980 not sure what you people are watching but when the pitcher pitchs does not touch the ground you here go into her glove.

  • @68alca the ball never touch the ground and the umpire behind plate called stirke three not ball four. not it was not a good call.

  • @mynarfamily the umpire didn't cost the game... you should of scored more

  • Even if umpire says:strike 3 batter out, it does'nt change the rule: If the ball touch the ground first, it's uncatch and batter can run to the 1rst when it's clear and les then 2 outs, or anytime with 2 outs. It looks like plate umpire ask to field umpire, and answer like the ball touch the ground first. Seem to be a good call.

  • it lookede to me that the pitch was low and possibly hit the ground before the catch which would be a no catch

  • its not drop third strike because she didnt swing
