i agree, hisownsidekick. Kobe lost because he tried to put his wines-dish combos against the challenger's, who was an absolute master at wines. he's worked at enough places and tasted enough food WITH wine to know just what wines go with what flavors. he pretty much recreated some recipes he'd used from restaurants he's worked at and put those flavors with wines, his specialty. he knew how to please taster's pallets; it's his job. that's why Kobe lost...to everyone saying judges R hammered.

They were judge differently. Iron chef were judge by his dish. But the challeneger were judge base on how he matches the wine, not the overall wine and dish combination, and how it work out. I think since they were lost at the experince of wine matching with dish, they didn't judge correctly.

Well this is BS. You cannot absolutely deny that this so called "challenger" had a lot of help using his already good-tasting wines. One would say that he had a special ingredient backing him up, and he got away with it because of his title, which is unfair.

The other judge even remarked that what she was eating was not tuna, because of the overwhelming use of wine.

And because Kobe's dishes were tasted last, the judges were already hammered with clouded sense of taste.

Kaga looked pissed after giving the verdict. Also Kishi tends to throw a point to the iron chef, especially if the challenger wins 3-1. Only time I've noticed she'll go for the challenger is when they're far superior to the Iron Chef that day .
