  • my cousin did francis's voice names chill wills

  • @insect1752 The mule didn't really get more fan mail. Donald was joking! He didn't like the later scripts and he wanted to leave Universal. Donald was so adorable and incredibly talented - an amazing dancer, a terrific singer, actor, and comedian - not a triple threat - a QUADRUPLE THREAT!!!!!!!!! He could do it all!!

  • Chill Wills (the voice of Francis) is as much Americana as apple pie. He tickles best with voice and character in the John Wayne classic...McClintock.. if my spelling is correct.

  • I remember watching the Francis the Talking Mule movies when I was a little boy. Give me Francis instead of Mr. Ed anyday! O'Connor was a great singer, dancer, actor, comedian, etc. My Mother just loved him.

  • @insect1752 Very true! Donald O'Connor really was terrific in these movies. O'Connor was a great singer, dancer, actor, comedian, etc.

  • Donald O'Connor later quit the franchise, complaining that the mule got more fan mail than he did, but I don't really understand why... the mule is a mule, tho Chill Will's voice is a definite plus. Donald is very much the comic impetus, even with no singing and dancing - and boy, could he dance.

  • @01Dani10 EGH BROTHAAAAAA

  • Ya'll just don't get it! When we were small kids in the mid to late 50's, Francis was a big deal--and when we went to see Santa, Francis was there to!! They made a lot more films after ww2 I guess...hard to remember what out Mom told us! Just enjoy it! I believe he was the model for Mr. Ed!

  • Francis the fashion police.
