CASPIAN - Live in China, July 2010

Select clips of the Beverly, Massachusetts based instrumental rock band CASPIAN performing at the 2010 Qingyuan Music Festival in Qingyuan City, China on July 18, 2010. Various independent Chinese rock bands performed over the course of the 4 day festival.

This was the bands first trip to Asia and also included a show in Hong Kong two days prior. Footage shot by Tobias Stilz and Philip Jamieson. Edited by P. Jamieson. All video shot with iPhone4.

I don't know why, but I'm proud of these leaps and bounds that happen within this tiny corner of underground music. It gives me a kind of hope. That maybe someday within my lifetime, this kind of music will get recognized for its beauty and importance. I do a little fist pump when I see stuff like this or hear that Russian Circles are opening for Tool or Pelican are opening for Thrice. Like, "Yeah! Go guys! Show all these people what they've been missing."

Cool!!! just love the Chinese music scene, I toured there in 2006 with my band JEF and in 2009 and 2010 with my new band K-Jell (check out videos from the tours here on You Tube), I will be back in 2011 for a new tour in China with K-Jell. China has a great scenen with a lot of good venues. I know is SUBS (Beijing) and SMZB (Wuhan), very good friends of mine. All our albums you can get from October Party Records in Beijing :)
