In honor and commemoration of glass artist, Hans Godo Fräbel, the Fräbel Art Foundation has selected two female honorees to receive the,"2008 Hans Godo Fräbel Award" and the "2008 Fräbel Novice Award". The "2009 Hans Godo Fräbel Award" recipient is glass artist, Kathleen Elliot, and "2009 Fräbel Novice Award" recipient, Kimberly Field.
Both winners will receive a special glass award designed by Fräbel himself. The ceremony will take place at the Copeland Collection. This event gathers artists of all mediums and a large mass of Atlanta's elite.
The Frabel Awards are the only independent glass art competition open (and free) to emerging glass artists. In effort to encourage cooperation and education between glass artists around the world, Hans created the Frabel Art Foundation and his most recent project, MyGlassArt.org, which enabled glass artists around the world to engage in becoming judges for this extravagant glass competition.
"I always encourage others to accomplish their dreams and go far in life. This is my way of transcending towards those that share the same dream as I have."
