First go, spankin' brand new 540 from Scott Shafiroff, New York. This was the first E85 motor they built - and what a beast! 709 brake HP, and torque to boost. Hooked up to a Tremec TKO600 in my '70 Elkie SS, it will be quite fun. To say the least, he he..

I hope you had at least a little water in the block. The engine heats real fast. I have a 582....just pulling it for Scott to do a refresh /upgrade after 12,000 miles of street driving

Enjoy the motor...Bought one of Shafiroff's 598 Pump Gas motors w/ Big Dawg SS option. Mine fore up the first time also.
