Last night was the best monsoon summer storm of the season so far. Tons of rain and lightning. I was up early today and there was a rolling mist in the mountains. Wasn't sure if it was fog (very rare in the desert), or smoke from fires sparked by the intense lightning. I had to run out and shoot pictures. You'll see my inspiration - the first shot is out my window from my loft at about 6am. I then ventured out in the car to get a better look. The air was almost a tropical feeling 75 degrees, quite a break from the 110+ we've had lately. Now that my pictures have uploaded (6:30am), the mist has cleared and it's turning into just another hot summer day, but what an experience to be up before the dawn and see what you are about to see here. Enjoy!

  • Funny, I moved from to NC from Tucson too. I'm in California now. I wish I could have gone home though. I'm still homesick.

  • yep i moved to to N.C BUT IM MOVING BACK HOME A.S.A.P. LIKE NEXT YEAR I HOPE AND PRAY TUCSON IS THE BEST I MISS HOME SO BAD

  • bigot

  • beautiful country but its getting so overcrowded. constant building and adding to the highways, AZ will be one big road systems, if we don't get some smart to figure out how to handle the gridlock we find some of our streets in now. Tucson is a nice city, but full of illegals and druggie too.

  • I miss Tucson. Thanks 4 that. Cheers.

  • I've been out of town all week and I missed this? Damn it!
