Nicely done -- High five on saving this raccoon!

There is no doubts. If I were attacked by an animal, I would protect myself. But, I would not hurt an innocent one.

sometimes, when we are in trouble we pray to God to help us. So, let us be kind towards animals - our little brothers, and may be God will be more merciful toward us. We, the people are responsible for destroying their natural habitat. It is our fault that animals come to our dumpsters to feed.

@DearestJenn You must have me mixed up with someone else. I never said anything about running raccoons over and I would never do that.
And if one or more raccoons showed up on my property, I would call Animal Control to come and pick them up. If they couldn't do it I would trap them and release them somewhere far away from where I or any other people live. Shooting or drowning them would be a last resort.

"I run them over every chance I get."
And you're telling me to have a heart? I've had experiences with raccoons as well; I rescue young raccoons when they parents are killed and drive them to a Wildlife Rescue Center. Yes, they can be a nuisance, but so can people. There are other ways to go to handle raccoons, thanks.

@MischiefMeerkat "i can only guess that all the vicious comments about "you should have killed it slowly" are gonna have high scores"
Naw, no need to kill it, even though it can be a serious pest. Just call Animal Control or even your local law enforcement organization and they can get it out of the dumpster and take it away without it possibly taking up residence in someone's home (maybe even yours) and crapping up the attic.
Thank you for helping him.
