Dude...you are a living saint. I hope you realized that you have most likely extended your step mom's life by your compassionate actions. Most people would just have given up. I hope that your still able to make progress and I look forward to an update. You seriously are a hero to your family.

Just watched all your latest videos of the Kitchen Experience. I am very impressed, and congratulate you on your patience and understanding. That house has some pretty dire spaces from the look of it. You are an exceptional person to have taken charge of it the way you have, and your family is fortunate to have you.

Listen to the video and you can hear the girl who is probably a teenager by now laughing and saying this is gross. There is no reason why she can't do some cleaning including washing the dishes and drainer. I have lived with hoarders all my life and I have the ability to clean my house. This whole family needs counseling or this will never go away. I am sure the people don't really want to live this way. Its all too much like Peter Walsh says. Buy the book and give it to the stepmom.

That's a really harsh call - you can see how much negotiation is required to make small headway, a child cannot be expected to both live in that circumstance, know what to do, and have the emotional capacity to deal with the push back from the hoarding mother ...
