For God's sake, this "Keith vs. Oscar" garbage is pathetic. Oscar sought Keith out to appear as a guest because he was impressed with him and respected his talent.
Type in "Keith Emerson , Oscar Peterson's Piano Party Jan 1976" to youtube to hear the full audio of Keith's appearance on the show, including the conversation they had. And then put this stupid argument to rest.

A lot of people blowing smoke here. Allow me to say this. I knew Oscar Peterson. I considered him a friend, and I assume he considered me a friend. I had a concert hall named after him. So, perhaps I knew him well enough to say this: Oscar *never* played with sub-par musicians. Ever. if it wasn't good enough, he wouldn't play. And so, if he played with Keith Emerson, it was because he though well enough of him as a musician to do so. Good enough for OP, good enough for me.
