Bell Training to go outside. In conjunction with crate training, we hang a bell and train our dogs by taking them directly from their crate to the bell, ring with their nose or paw and the door magically opens! Here is Bailey (adult) and Zoe a 11 week old pup who is already potty trained. Notice the puppies crate next to the door. She goes straight from that crate directly to the bell, ring and then the door opens to go outside for 'potty'. Only then can they come in and run around indoors....then back in the crate and repeat until they are ringing that bell themselves to be let out to go potty. (note: square type cow bells will scratch your door...use jingle bells that are round and usually on a strip of velcro to 'wear' and easily found around christmas time :-)
