Sounds nice, but I'm definitely not a fan of the body style...

Hi Ed, great review, but it's not really clear which comment you're responding to here. If you're responding to CodyCEngdal's comment, I think the normal procedure is to put @CodyCEngdal at the beginning of your response. If others agree/disagree, just vote me up or down. Thanks.

Best regards from Brasil!

Wow! Great sound and feel!

Damn, nothing compares 2 a fretless Music Man Stingray or Travis Bean - wow - WAL R good 2.

Nice!
Please do more fretless basses ;)

you do great vids, Ed!
That's a crazy top bout on that bass... I don't dig the sound of fretless, but it's all subjective.

As usual, Ed sets the standard for m.i. demos: great playing, good to great production values and insightful, clear communications. It's a real coup for BassGearMag to have him on their roster.
My only regret is that I can't currently afford a Clement bass and their prices will probably start rising as a result of this video!

yes, but you risk to destroy your fretboard because the strings hit the fretboard and not the frets like in a fretted bass... but if you didn't slap like a mad is good... search Pino Palladino, he used to slap a Musicman Stingray fretless
Hi from Spain, Ed
I love your vids, great reviews!!
I only want to ask u things: what are the earphones you used to make this vid? have u ever used in ear monitoring in your gigs?
Thanks a lot

Thanks! I'm using regular Sony earbuds, nothing special. I have never used in ear monitors on a gig.

Too heavy wood for my taste, doesn't seem to resonate enough, but who the hell cares about my 2 cents, haha
:-)

Heavy? This bass weighs 7.3 pounds. It's very light and resonant in fact.

Ohh... well I just outed myseld as being a technical "noob" then.
But the sound seems quite dark compared to the pulsating tone of my Ibañez GWBII with ash body...dunno...
SimulacronX 2 years ago
Well, you are correct - the tone is dark. But that doesn't have to do weight or resonance. It's the character of the wood and pickups.. The GWBII has a preamp right? And Ash has more high frequency response than this wood, Black Limba. So, your basic impression is right.
