Bless you for posting these videos. It will one day prove to be a hefty weight on the hearts of future generations that we didn't do more to chronicle the "lives" of these extraordinary buildings. It drives me crazy to think about the rate we're loosing these. Why are we so damn determined to take a steam roller over everything that's a physical representation of our past? I'll never understand it.

@Floraleona in the 1800's what happened is that patients would have bad things happen never torture and nothing like that in the 1900's

@erploco are you speaking of Rebecca Mccauley?? And what she dealt w/as a pt here where I live?? The intentions of healing was a good plan. The place became over crowded & the state did not repair what needed during the times. The theatre in the main was beautiful!

@viperBSG Exactly! On the very small plus side, you can get a good glimpse of the original architecture in the movie Cider House Rules. They shot their exteriors there.

@bashjpfreak7 Yes. Exactly. I wish the state could have been smarter sooner ans renovated the original building for some use. But then we are talking polotics and we know how that goes. From the outside the hospital was a beautiful site to see when you got to the top of the hill on Rt.66. Bet Ghost Hunters would have had a field day in there.LOL!
