this series was great until the ww1 part. even the ww1 part was semi-believable.. but the truth was that if the csa would have won independence.. she would have freed the slaves by 1900. now i am no fool and i know there would still be prejudice and unfairness (isnt their prejudice, racism and un fairness in 2009 USA??) but the csa would have had to free the slaves. no nation would trade with a nation with legalized slavery. and the idea that a clone of hitler would rise 2 power is nonsense

If you read the books, then you should have known that they did free the slaves some time in the mid 1880's, before the empire of Brazil.

This series was a fantastic read. I had a professor in college who recommended it, I started reading it when Walk in Hell had been out for a couple of months. I got the all the books out in the series at that time and I was hooked. I waited with great anticipation for each new book to come out and tore trough it. I wish Turtledove could take the series up to the 1960's. A look at the tattered remains of the Confederacy with the sweeping social change of the 1950s and 1960s would be fascinating.

sorry to have to post again but yeah great series of books really enjoyed them i appreciate you puttin em' up i just wish it hadn't showed me some people reallly don't know what's going on around them! thanks again to be honest this makes me wanna read the series over again
