Excellent scene at the end of the movie, when Val stands up to Ray. The acting and dialogue in this scene are great. Ray and Kathy are in top form here. Not to spoil it for anyone reading this who has not seen the movie, but basically Val(Kathy Burke) is breaking from Ray(Ray Winstone) at the end of the movie, after he has beaten her up. I think that Kathy's performance here is superb...

Really don't see why abusive couples stay together i've met a couple of girls who've been in abusive relationships it's horrible, i get that love isn't logical and yeah you make sacrifices and it is hard being in a relationship and sometimes the guy manipulates you but seriously you'd have to know something was wrong when you're being bruised and you live in fear that's not love that's desperation.

@jackstein104 Unfortunately, all those actors you mentioned (Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Jack Nicholson, and Tom Hanks) are getting old. They're still great actors, don't get me wrong! I'm just getting worried about a new wave of American actors, in which most just care about being famous. Nothing wrong on being famous, but they just focus on their career like that. I can only imagine how boring it might be if you play the same role every so often.
