Looks like it's an absolute bitch to control.
Carmack's blog entry on creating the game was very interesting, however. I like the implementation of the map and how they position the move/fire buttons on the screen.
The iPod just isn't a great system for gaming though, in my opinion. Touch-screen controls for shooters, especially, have never been great.
