I've got a date with a flathead V8

Son's Dad in law had this old cab over '48 Ford rusting away in the woods with a flathead V8 in it that he knew someone would want. When he found out I was building a roadster, he volunteered to pull it out and bring it to me.. Amazing guy. I've got the oil pan off already and it looks beautiful inside. Slowly working the heads off, so as not to break any head bolts if I can help it. This is going to be awesome... If you recognize the song in the background you win the prize as a real motorhead....

I'll bet it won't croak like that stupid 2000 Explorer if you have a good mechanic. Yes it will cost at first and burn gas but there are fewer failure points.

@wsmikey The truck yes, the motor no. Probably will take a big hammer, pry bar, vinegar, or dynamite ( whatever works best ) to get it apart. Those are the worst thing in the world for getting stuck. My opinion is because of the way condensation can run downhill around the valves and also find it's way into any cylinder with an open intake valve. I've never had the pleasure of tearing one down that wasn't stuck!
