Potter, Jim Gutsell is the owner of South Elm Pottery and Gallery. His pieces are an American version of Japanese pottery and in this video they help Jim share the magic of wood firing. He explains how to tell if a pot is wood fired. Also, how to tell if a pot is reduction fired, what it is and the two kinds of glazes that really need it (celadons and copper reds). Jim also fires in a gas and an electric kiln, so he talks about them, too.
