Using LabView 9.0 from National Instruments, our Robot DHii is doing a standard industrial vision based pick and place.

The web camera identifies the location (and type) of the object - the program converts the camera coordinates to robot coordinates - and presto! The place point is of course pre-programmed.

Here we can see 3 distinct devices being integrated & controlled seamlessly under LabView: The Robotic Arm, A standard Web Camera & LEGO NXT Gripper

  • @diegoricepogo Hi Yes, we had to write the programs from scratch since we only had the DLL files to the motor controller. For your project its best to see if you can use systems which are compatible to labview... e.g. Lego Mindstorms

  • did you write the program from scratch? IF so what were some key Vi's that you used. I'm about to start building a circuit for my professor for a robotic arm and he wants me to eventually be able to use labview to control the motion of the robotic arm. Thanks.
