The legacy of Argentina's Dirty War lives on in the children of those who disappeared. We pair their portraits with the poetry of Alicia Partnoy, a survivor from that time and place.
In 1977, Partnoy and her husband disappeared. They were abducted by uniformed Argentinean military personnel and imprisoned in the
concentration camp La Escuelita (The Little School). They were beaten and tortured for the next six months. Ruth, their 18-month-old daughter, was left behind.
In 1999, Zachmann traveled to Buenos Aires to photograph members of HIJOS. The children of the disappeared are the youngest generation who are carrying the mantle passed down from the "Grandmothers and Mothers of May Square."

The fact that this is still going on in our world, a world full of make-up&the hottest style&"Billy didn't smile at me when i walked down the hall. OMG!" is such a disgrace&horror. I mean, people all over the world are w/out a family or a proper life at all&there are only 678 views...really? Can the world really be so blind&ignorant that all news&rumor is completely fed up by just stupidity?
I pray for any lives lost, "missing," or broken from cold abandonment.
Break the silence
