  • It is OK to like the nutshell more, but that doesn't make it faster than the OZ pdr shown here and it doesn't make it as capable or as easy to build.

    Again .. all of that doesn't matter if you LIKE the nutshell more, It is a nice little boat. But the PDR appeals to a different sort of person/sailor.

  • yes, but you have to give boats sail sizes to match their stability.

    5 PDRs just finished the texas 200 mile event which took quite a big toll on bigger boats with lots of wind most days.

    So tell me the sail size is wrong for the boat :-)

  • Sorry, the nutshell doesn't have enough stability to handle the sail area. I've sailed both boats a lot and the nutshell doesn't match speed or capability in light, medium or strong wind.

    But that doesn't make the PDR a better boat. It is just different.
