The Home Improvement stores have the fixtures and heat lamps. Just have to make sure they are in stock. When the cold weather hits, those things go flying out the door for dog houses and pump houses.

Yeah I agree - the chickens need the lamps. The rabbits keep warm by other means :)

@VantageControlsUK what's interesting is that the chickens act like the light is not there but the rabbits LOVE to huddle under it. Rabbits may not need them but I can tell that they enjoy it when its there. Thanks for posting

Wow I see those lights for like $5 at HD all the time! Why put the light outside? Why not inside where they sleep?

@Mrcaffinebean That's a question I have.. where to put it? how high off the ground... don't you think a 250w light in that coop would be like that video of Seinfeld where Kramer had that kenny roaster red light just outside his apartment window? (search youtube for "Kramer the kenny roaster" to see what I mean.. :-)
