@28steryan In the arcades, it was more than that. It had rotating joysticks similar to the ones in SNK's Ikari Warriors and Touch Down Fever arcades, for rotating the firearms. When I played Contra at a young age, I had a hard time pointing the firearms diagonally.

you can actually see the arcade version of this gam einside of robocop 2 when robocop throws officer duffy in to the arcade machine

so true,this was a reason to plug in the headphones i a genesis 1.i love how the instruments are balanced out almost to good,i also like the stereo effect of the genesis when it''s phasing sounds from left to right etc.
