what he considers his greatest shot ever. 30mph cross wind, hanging lie in bunker, ball below his feet right next to the lip, huge tree in front and had to play a hard hook. hit it to about 15-20 feet and drained the putt. absolutely sick.

I know that he hooked it. What I mean is that his hands finished higher than what usually looks like a hook. Which is why I said it looks like a cut. Why you continue is baffling, but don't let that stop you.

The way he cut across the ball looked a lot like a slice, since it appears that he starts from the outside and the way his hands finish. Looking at the way the wind was blowing the flag on the green (not above the trees) was what lead me to believe it was a fade. But, I guess you didn't bother to read the following comment from TLUDaProf, and my admission of a mistake after seeing the direction the flags were blowing above the tree. Thanks for trying though.

a fade?? is that a joke? even if u really thought the wind was right to left, everything about that swing spells hard hook...look at how much he released that thing

Was this the US Open or the PGA at Hazeltine?

Ah, you are correct. The flags on the grandstand are blowing L-R. Thanks for pointing that out. I was looking only at the flag on the green, from behind the green as the ball landed. How Tiger got the ball to land on the green with that lie and swing it pretty amazing.

It does make sense to see what the flags are doing above the trees since much of the time during the ball flight the ball is above tree top level.
