Transcendental Meditation (TM) is explained by scientists - Dr John Hagelin and Dr Norman Rosenthal.

Hagelin: Meditation properly understood and properly practiced is a systematic means to turn the attention powerfully within. To experience and explore deeper levels of mind, quieter levels of the awareness until the mind is completely settled in the simplest state of human awareness.

Rosenthal: Through Transcendental Meditation one can slip into a zone if you like in which you are thoroughly alert, profoundly relaxed, very joyful in spirit, but unfocused on anything in particular. It's not a thing your happy about and yet you're joyful. It's not a thing you're thinking about and yet you're alert. You're not asleep and yet you're profoundly relaxed. It's a really curious state that is a thing in itself. One thing about Transcendental Meditation and you hear this from many people who have tried a bunch of different meditation techniques to get to this state - is it's one of the simplest, most effortless ways of accessing the transcendent.

Hagelin: In this meditative state the body gains a deep state of rest, deeper than sleep and deep seated stress is dissolved, providing an effective prevention to stress related illness, removing the deleterious effects of stress on health and brain functioning. It's a systematic meditation technique to develop the full potential of mind and body.

*Transcendental Meditation as taught by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi is now practiced by millions of people worldwide from all backgrounds and from all walks of life. TM is one of the most simple, natural and effective meditation techniques in the world today. Learn more at http://www.tm.org

  • @0.:35 isnt that the guy that runs the us fed sure looks like him

  • @bladdan I don't know if you are reading this but: I also had add and due to holosync, i'm "cured". So yes, it really turned my life around.

  • @bladdan if you fall into a meditative state daily youll answer that question yourself

  • Nice, and I am glad that millions of people didn't wait for science to explain it to believe it can work.

  • @blackrobe2007 I have severe adhd and have been on and off medication all my life. I've taken holistic supplements, have done various types of meditation and some other alternative therapies. Just my opinion, don't actually stop your medication until you find something alternative that you think works for you. Even then, you might only be able to reduce your medication or take a natural medication instead. Just a tip so you can still function and get your work done

  • @bladdan Hey Ive got add as well and planning on stopping medication and trying meditation. Did you find any good program I can follow?

  • I've been doing this the last 15-20 years every morning, and if ever I've been stressed. It just came naturally to me to want to sit back and clear my mind, or lie in bed before the day began. It has always worked for me, and allowed me to be able to surpass many of the the obstacles that my mind creates. remember, the mind is the lens of life experience, the soul is untouched.

  • TM is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!!!!!

  • TM will definitley help you, good luck! :)

  • @bladdan 35 is no problem no worries. I feel that I really need to find an answer too. I'm skeptical on it too. I might go try it if the tm center lets me have a discount on the price. It's $1500 over here. Sadly I heard it was $35? around the 70's. My doctor recommended meditation though and I'm willing to try. I say it's worth a try because I believe that deep breathing can help fix many problems. I actually think deep breathing helps with headaches and stress. I don't see harm with trying tm
