This is the intro to Star Trek: Enterprise starring Scott Bakula as Captain Jonathan Archer of the starship Enterprise (NX-01), set 10 years before the formation of the United Federation of Planets.

This is NOT the original version of the official opening theme but I personally think this is what the intro SHOULD HAVE BEEN, making it inline with opening themes of the rest of the series where visual presentation of the vessel is central, accompanied by orchestra-performed theme.

  • This song is more fitting for a Star Trek theme song, not the Soft Rock/Folk song/pop song that they used.

I know, right? Exactly what I thought too! A proper themesong, a proper captain's introduction..

  • Didn't like it. It was alright, and woulda worked fine, but I found it too slow and plodding. And I preferred the actual titles listing the cast alphabetically, rather than by their character's rank/ importance.

  • @BrainComm487

Interesting thought on the titles listing. Thank's for your comment!

  • Holy crap this gave me god damn chills!

  • @Jason9811

I know, right? Isn't it awesome?!

Thank you. Gene is one of my favorite inspirational people and visionaries/philosophers. He gave me a lot of inspiration and hope. I thank him for creating a wonderful phenomenon such as Star Trek and I hope it continues to thrive with more shows and movies, stories for the new generation. I would have loved to meet him. I got a chance to meet some of his colleagues though. :)

  • As someone who actually LOVED the original Enterprise opening, I have to commend you on a job very well done. You are an artist, sir, and your love for Star Trek really shines through in every video of yours I have seen.

In other words, Gene would have been proud to have a fan such as you.

  • @alex56video Roddenberry's gone, man. Let it go.

Star Trek is in the hands of a new generation now. And there are a lot of people who still need to deal with that.

  • I guess a lot of work went into this, so I am sorry to say that I did not like it at all.

I actually like the original intro a lot and I never cared about it being different. For me the whole Star Trek thing is, amongst other things, about dreams and the intro as well as the song and its lyrics express this perfectly.

  • It never really bothered me that the real opening credits were different from the titles of other series. It didn't look like other Star Trek credits because it wasn't Star Trek yet. It was before Star Trek.
