  • Depotting is a good way to organise your eyeshadows. Many people like to colour code them and press them into a pallet. Another reason to de-pot is to save space. Some eyeshadows have lots of packaging and little product in - a waste of space for many people, especially if you already have a lot of make-up. Lastly, it's convenient if you have all of your eyeshadows in one pallet, rather than rummaging through your make-up collection.

Well, those are my reasons xP

  • soldering machines are sooo dangerous i used them in stained glass to melt metal

  • you can also take a screw driver and put it in a candel untill it gets really hot and then do this:)

  • wow i should have watched this before depotting all my shadows! i just depotted with a flat iron and shattered a lot of them. this way is so much easier!

  • This is exactly what I was looking for, something to save the compact for reuse! Thanks!

  • lovely

I asked this question before I had any idea of what depotting was. Thank for the response. I saw a crazy video on how to depot eyeshadow pencils into a jar. I have no palettes so I am not sure that I will be doing this. I have tonsof eye dust from jessesgirl, and shadows from toofaced and urdan decay.

  • so you can put it in a mac pallet :)

  • what is the purpose of depotting?

  • Brilliant! I have one of those at home and haven't had a use for it in years ... haha. Thanks for making this video!!

  • This is really great! I didnt know about the soldering machine! i could even do this with the nyx shadows, so much easier than any of the other methods! Thanks!!!
