JaMarcus had the talent to be a good starting QB in the NFL and he blew because he got all that money and became lazy.

I remember saying to everyone this wasnt gonna work because I thought he was mediocre @ best during his lsu days. But because of a HUGE game against the weak ass notre dame team in the sugar bowl, it shot his draft stock up over night. I called bust even before the draft.

Hindsight is 20/20, but it's hard to think that you could've had Adrian Petersen, Darelle Revis, Megatron, Joe Thomas or Patrick Willis. The only draft that might've been worse was the Portland Trail Blazers taking Greg Oden over Kevin Durant (even though it seemed like the right idea at the time).

The raiders needed a quarterback. Jamarcus russell had the best previous season of any of the quarterbacks in that draft. Any other team in that position would have done the same thing. It's just a shame how he was a huge waste of talent. He lacked the motivation.
