I think first floor people means that the people are too afraid to dream and too afraid to get hurt. They're missing out on life when dont take any risks.

This song should probably be... totally be the normal ending song for the english release of Final Fantasy type 0. The ending is really sad... this song fits it so well :3

Interesting. My first thought was that first floor people meant people who are unwilling or would rather not fall in love, but want to stay grounded in certainty that they won't get hurt.
