  • @pdbland1 He says that Kersek would die without a mark on him, and that Kersek was getting too big for his pants - a reference to Kersek making a noise and having a casual attitude when he should have been more on his guard for Cady.

  • What does Cady say to Kersek when he kills him? I can't make out what he says.

  • Great film! Cady is such a creep. He has the perfect creepy guy expressions!

  • Mitchum also played a really evil character in "The Night Of The Hunter" with Shelly Winters. He really creeps me out in that one too.

  • @CesMan83

Still, you gotta love the friendly tap that Max gives poor dope Kersek at 5:20, haha...Robert Mitchum was the MAN!

  • @MsLostWoods

I know, right? Kersek should have fought back more. At least ram an elbow into Cady's stomach or something! At least Sam gave it all he got against the twisted psycho...and won!

  • @mrwonderfulman2011 The choke/drown scene involving Kersek was a pretty weak scene lol. Censorship is mostly why a lot of the original film's scenes were shortened if not completely cut out of the film. Many scenes including the drowning scene between Sam Bowden and Max Cady was originally longer! lol! Movies back then had very strict censor regulations though. "They felt that the drowning went on perhaps a bit too long." Director J. Lee Thompson said.

  • @CesMan83 Yeah I thought Kersek dieing the way he did (a very inexperienced character -_-) was kind of sad (in a funny way xD) lol. If you have seen the remake I think the Kersek in that version is far worse! LOL

  • @mrwonderfulman2011 i was talking about another actor, he was the 'little guy" in the big sleep, and the fall guy in the maltese falcon.

  • @kingcaesar5 I thought his name was Page Slattery?

  • @mrwonderfulman2011 elisha cook jr made a career out of playing those weak almost pathetic characters.

  • I would hate to play the role of Kersek who is evidentially labelled as a weak, stupid fool!

  • @CesMan83 I have watched this scene several times and I really find it amusing how Kersek defends the Cady's choke! He completely gives into the rear naked choke without any defence! I really think this had something to do with the 1962 way of acting. I timed this scene and Cady had his choke on for only seconds until Kersek passed out. I really wondered if he was suppose to die from the choke or from drowning? Sam Bowden was under the water a whole lot longer! Weird!

  • @MsLostWoods

Yeah, Kersek is a classic cinematic case of "When doing something dumb kills you, you had it coming"!

  • The music in this film is outstanding.

  • Did you notice that in this one, Cady is more of a pervert, and in the remake, he's a psychopathic sadist?

    Weird.

  • classic....thanks!!

  • Poor Kersek what an idiot -_- giving away his position. . All the music in this film though is excellent <3 it! Even though it may be a little dramatic at times lol
