To the person narrating this video that called the Tahr a sheep:
The Himalayan Tahr (Hemitragus jemlahicus) (or Himalayan Thar) is a large ungulate related to the wild goat.

Just got back from New Zealand, harvested a beautiful 12 1/2 bull Tahr and 9 1/2 Chamois buck. Thanks!

G'day - Bring a good set of lungs and legs. Probably more important to make sure your gear is warm than camo'd, the weather in the Alps can change pretty quick. Enjoy your trip.

good....very good hunting

It depends on if there's snow. If it's snowy and you're hunting high, I'd choose white. If it's green, go with green or green variations. Remember that tahr look down for their predators; they rarely look up, so if you're above them, you're pretty well home free.
Good luck - Bill

I'm hunting Tahr on the south island in June. What gear, specifically camo, do you recommend bringing along for New Zealand? Thanks

They can run 300 to 350 lbs. - Bill
