It brings back to me the ghosts of old Paris - I love it, it's sweet sadness overwhelms my soul. It creates a longing to return to the streets of of that beautiful city.

We must be kindred spirits. My roots have nothing to do with France, and yet it calls to me, though I have yet to go, but like you I hope to one day. Who was it that said every man has two countries, France and his own? I want to say Jefferson, but I'm not sure. Either way, that fits me completely.
