This demonstrates a preferred method to changing the oil in a Smart Car Fortwo or Forfour. Using the Topside Oil Changer opposed to traditional methods is recommended due to the factory oil drain plug being notorious for cross-threading and stripping out. **Note: The Smart Car used in this video is an earlier NON-US version that does not have an oil drain plug.

  • whats the point of draining by vacuum when u still have to lift it to change the filter

  • It's easier without using the suction device - just unscrew the drain plug and let gravity do the work. And you don't need a lift to get access to the oil filter.

  • This is the only way to change oil in the smart, but not this version, the old smart 450 doesn't have drain plug.

  • works good but not on a car as easy as a smart. worked good on my audi.  filter comes off right from the topside
