This is the former known World Record/Best Known Time of SNES Rainbow Road (from 30th August 2009 to 4th September 2009) by me ;)
It's not a very good run, obviously. I'm a bit lacking when it comes to using Funky/Torpedo. The only reason this is the WR is because of the lack of truly skilled players who could beat it, because not many people can access this course.

Total Time: 2:35.467

I abuse just about every minor glitch in the course that I know of to get up to this time, lol.
I hope to see better times than this one emerge soon, either from me or other more skilled racers. I know this course can go sub-2:35, possibly sub 2:34 on a really really good day ;)

SNES Rainbow Road is a course model hack/custom course for Mario Kart Wii by Mr Bean and Chadderz. It is publicly available for download, and if you have the correct homebrew and fancy entering into the Time Trials/WFC races then I'd like to hear from you ;)
