Smart Key in Prius (How it works)

Detail explanation of how the Smart Key System works for the Prius. My 2006 Prius has the optional 3 doors Smarkey system -- Driver, Passenger and rear hatch doors. In the new 2010 Prius, the driver side door Smartkey is standard. If you need sensors in the other two doors, you'll need to upgrade with the option.

@brett2100 I got them from AutoAnything. They are Sherwood brand. The color is Birdseye. Sherwood claims they are the only manufacturer that still use real wood.

hang on.. on the drivers door.. you locked it.. then easily opened it a few seconds later.. then you locked it again.. but couldn't open it a second later.. whats the deal with that? at 1:00 through

@blacky897 - After 5 seconds upon locking, it'll work. The first time (at 0:45), I waited longer than 5 seconds so I was able to open it. Watch it again. :)

@chopaface Prius is a car, not a prop for inadiquate men. I have a Prius - one of the early ones that just likes like a small Toyota saloon, and I wouldn't stop driving it if I won the lottery.

One time i got in the prius and started the car, i got out and let my buddy drive it away, except instead of the car disabling itself because the car was out of range, my buddy drove for several miles and then came back
