The Driver is Michael Vergers, Radicals original development driver and twice lap record holder on the Nordscheife in a Radical SR8.
The movement of his left foot as I recall, was from the bumpy track where it was filmed, and is having no effect on the clutch just the pedal slack.

@britishbikes12 Yes they are pretty easy to change as far as any clutch is easy. This Video has been taken from the manufacturers site. Although it never stated directly it was always displayed along with their attempts to break the lap record on the Nürburgring (Nordschleife). Whilst i sort of agree that riding the clutch is not good practice, if you are trying to break a lap record and have the manufacturer there happy to fully prep the car fully between laps, who cares about the clutch?

If the clutch is as accessible as it is on the bike, you can change the whole clutch in about 1/2 an hour. The pilot bearing is cheap. Hayabusas have tough clutches. Perhaps the tune on the engine is close to the limit, so he keeps his foot there in case it seizes to keep the rear wheels from locking. Maybe he put a little too much grenadium in the motor?

tats a prosort achelly.

Don't these cars have a dead clutch? Isn't riding the clutch so much bad for it? I read what you said about it being a motorcycle transmission but it must do something...

i did not find that heel toeing was hard at all it only took about a hour or so to keep from making the ar lurch when i was downshiting but after that i was able to make a smooth downshit while braking. and the car i am using is ar from an ideal vehicle to use, suzuki samurai, but i was able to teach myself in not very much time at all considering im not in the car for more than 20 min at a time, just takes a little practice, or a lot to do it like that even though the clutch is never out fully.
This Guy (Phil Abbott i Think) holds the lap record at the Nürburgring Nordschleife in the Radical. He is also one of the directors of the Radical company.
Quit telling him how to drive or how much clutch he might wear out!
If you want to do better, get an engineering degree or 3, design a car, build a car in your own factory, Race said car and video, then sit back and wait for a load of fat spotty nosed idiots to critisise from the comfort of their groaning arm chairs?!

@chriswhitehead actually dumb ass I owned an SR3 and raced it so don't talk like I'm some couch jockey commenting on things I know nothing about. The SR3 uses a motorcycle clutch meant for something that weighs 1/4th as much and is quite easy to wear out if you ride the pedal like that. I'm sure he doesn't care but if he used the dead pedal instead of using the clutch pedal as the dead pedal, it would be better on the car in the long run, and that's what most people who own one will care about.

The sr3 has a wet clutch setup if Im not mistaken. Im sure thats why he's not worried about slipping.

What he's doing is actually bad as far as the upshifts are concerned; you do not need to use the clutch to upshift a dog box transmission, just come off the gas slightly; the way he's riding the clutch with his foot like that will cause premature wear on the throw out bearing and slave cylinder; most manually shifted race cars have a dead pedal to the left of the clutch to keep your foot on when you're not downshifting so you don't have the tendency to ride the pedal like that.
