Another trip... This time to Luoyang, a city in Henan Province of China. Visit to Longmen Grottoes (Dragon Gate Grottoes), an extensive outdoor collection of Buddhist carving.

Then a visit to Shaolin Monastery.

Lonely Planet has all the info for Luoyang you could possibly need. The hotel was within walking idstance from the train station, but there are plenty of hotels around, from 80 to 200 yuan per day. The city is safe, most of China is safe for that matter.
