I stumbled upon this guy in the corner of a market in a village near Yangshou, China.
He was cooking various things for people and I think he is burning all the fur etc of the rat for them to cook properly at home. The animal on the left is some sort of big mouse it had just been cooked before the rat, when I looked closely it was still alive! Its eyes where moving and its feet, and it was blinking even though the guy had just burnt it with the blow torch! I don't think they want to eat rats more so they are hungry and can't afford to buy a chicken etc but in china you never know!

@Daquanrojaswag I don't know how common rat eating is in Mexico, but I know it's done. One of my Mexican uncles said he had a rat taco once. If I remember right he said it tasted good.

I am a chinese, but I'm not born in China. After watching this video I just realise that my grandparents had made their right choice. They left china one century ago, and never return back there after then. At least I do not need to eat rats.

In many parts of the world, rats are a delicacy. Unfortunately, China often has torturous practices when preparing food, many of which are much crueler than this one.
I've heard that they like the flavor that comes from the adrenaline produced when they torture the animal. Americans hate that taste
