At first I wasn't really a fan of My Dying Bride, but then I realized how utterly amazing their work is. The music complements the lyrics perfectly, in my opinion. I wish bands such as this toured the US more. It really sucks living in the US and loving this kind of music that mostly resides in Europe...

That's a subjective point of view. To me (and I've listened to all their albums) this one is an essence of what MDB is. You could find heavier or more complex albums but this one is the one with the really dense atmosphere and everything has sense in it. It's got climat. It's pure art and it takes you to some other world.
And the songwriting is so good that it could have been released as a poem.
