This is the brand new RØDE NT2-A Studio Solution pack which is now shipping to dealers. It contains a whole load of extra accessories but the price is the same as the previous NT2A-only box!

The NT2-A Studio Solution Pack includes:

· NT2-A Variable Pattern Condenser Microphone

· SM6 shockmount with integrated Pop Shield

· Dust Pouch

· XLR Cable

· NT2-A Recording Techniques DVD with Grammy Nominated producer John Merchant

The NT2-A carries on the tradition forged by the now legendary RØDE NT2, featuring a professional large 1" capsule studio microphone incorporating three-position pick-up patterns, PAD and high pass filter switches conveniently located on the mic body. What's more, the NT2-A is 100% manufactured in Australia and comes with RØDE's standard 10 year warranty.

At the heart of the NT2-A is the Australian designed and manufactured HF1 dual diaphragm capsule. The frequency and transient response of this transducer has been voiced to complement today's modern recording techniques, and yet still evoke the silky smooth character of the legendary microphones of the 50's and 60's. These features provide the flexibility and superlative audio characteristics that make the NT2-A one of the most versatile condenser mics available.

  • Can you please tell me what kind of power source will the Rode NT2A require?

  • @MRKREEPER915MXF Hello - NT2-A needs 48 volt "Phantom power" - many mixers and audio interfaces can supply this. What would you be using it with?

  • Hi is it better to attach this mic to a mixer (Yamaha MG102C mixer) that has built in preams phantom power then to an audio interface and then to the computer? or just a preamp that has phantom power? and do you know if the yamaha is good for sound quality?

  • @glydeclean As long as the audio interface has phantom power then both options will work. Can't tell you whether it'll necessarily sound any better going through the Yamaha vs Direct to audio interface, except I'd imagine going directly to audio interface will have lower self-noise.

  • I am interested in how it sounds and not about the package etc... man, that wasnt so helpfull like i hoped... peez

  • @Partisansoul Go to RØDE's site and look for links to the SoundBooth - there you can actually hear the NT2A on loads of different material.

  • ... (cont'd) - Also, the sound was very... precise on the Rode, but somehow felt "boxed in" compared with the Bluebird, which seemed to have a bit of a metallic tone, but gave a sense of space around it.

Given that this was my first mic test, I'm a bit uncertain now.

Anyway, what I need is a mic that can work great on lows, mid-range, and highs, both soft and loud. Would the NT2a do the trick, or do you have other suggestions?

    Thanks so much!

  • Hi there!

I need some help. I'm hunting for my first recording mic, and I need advice in choosing one that will work for my style of singing.

I sing mostly classical, Byzantine, church music, and jazz, and I range from alto on jazz to mezzosopran on the classical/Byzantine.

The NT2a was actually the first mic I tried the other day, followed by the Bluebird. What was surprising was that even without the pop filter, the NT2a did not catch almost any plosives and breath noise.

  • @TheBuzzdc Get this, a PreSonus AudioBox USB and a mic stand. Done! :)

  • Wait Ok .Im a Super noob At this ? ,Can Someone That KnowsOn How To Recored Vocals ? ...What To Start with ? ...Plzz Reply
